Looking south in downtown Vidalia. The bridge is gone now, as part of the GA DOT's Hwy 280 widening project through town. Several yards behind me is where the G&F crossed the SAL's Montgomery, AL to Savannah mainline. |

Looking north toward downtown Vidalia. You can't see it, but the bridge over Hwy 280 is just past the bushes. The GA DOT has taken this bridge down as part of the Hwy 280 widening project. Since the DOT owns the G&F ROW too, it's doubtful they'll replace the bridge until the need arises. That "need" will probably never happen. |
