Looking north, this is where the G&F once came into Greenwood. The trail actually curves away from the ROW at the very back of the pic. The mainline went beyond the curve in the trail before going into a curve itself. This is where the rails are still in place, being used by CSX today to turn engines. After the Southern took over the G&F, Southern tied their mainline to the G&F main somewhere to the south of here so they could quit having to go through the middle of downtown Greenwood. |
